Captivating Stories, Nurturing Minds: The Many Hats (and Boots) of Christine Tellach (aka Mrs. Speech)

Ever met someone who can rock a cowboy hat and craft a sentence that would make Shakespeare himself tip his beret? Well, folks, meet Christine Tellach (and her alter ego, Mrs. Speech)!

Anime-style illustration of Mrs. Speech, a speech-language pathologist, wearing a bright cape and surrounded by a burst of rainbow colors. Her energetic expression conveys her passion for helping children.

By Day, a Superhero in Disguise (aka SLP Extraordinaire):

Christine spends her days wielding a different kind of magic – the magic of communication. As Mrs. Speech, a seasoned speech-language pathologist (SLP) with 24 years of experience under her belt, she's a champion for young minds. She tackles communication challenges head-on, helping children find their voices and navigate the wonderful world of language.

But wait, there's more! (Because who wants a one-trick pony, right?)

By Night, a Weaver of Worlds (aka Genre-Bending Authoress):

When the moon hangs high and the crickets chirp their lullabies, Christine sheds her Mrs. Speech cape and transforms into Christine Tellach, a weaver of fantastical tales. Unlike the predictable bedtime stories, Christine's imagination takes flight into uncharted territories – think paranormal westerns with a side of chills, or urban fantasies where magic blends seamlessly with cityscapes.

The Secret Ingredient? Real-Life Inspiration!

Here's the coolest part: Christine's diverse characters, from the spunky protagonists to the quirky sidekicks, are all shaped by her experience as an SLP. They grapple with real-life challenges, like overcoming shyness or expressing emotions, making her stories not just thrilling, but also relatable.

Finding Harmony in the Chaos (aka Work-Life Balance Ninja):

Christine's a master of juggling acts. When inspiration strikes (which, let's be honest, is often!), she seeks refuge in her cozy rural homestead. Nestled amidst rolling hills and serene landscapes, it's the perfect spot to curl up with a fluffy romance novel (yes, she needs her guilty pleasures too!) or tap away at the keyboard, bringing her fantastical worlds to life.

And let's not forget her amazing support system – a devoted husband and spirited daughters. Together, they weave a tapestry of family, laughter, and boundless creativity, which undoubtedly spills over into Christine's captivating stories.

The Power of the Right Resources: What SLPs, Teachers, and Parents are saying

Book cover for "All About Stuttering" featuring a photo of a young girl writing in a journal. The background is a calming blue with colorful illustrations of rainbows and flowers.

On All About Stuttering

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This was a great introduction for my students to the topic of fluency/stuttering. Thank you! Jacqueline B.

On Accepting Correction
Book cover illustration for "Accepting Correction" featuring a cartoon boy and girl with backpacks, smiling and holding hands as they walk to school together.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐My son is easily discouraged when corrected, especially if the correction is coming from us (myself/husband). We modified the story to “accepting correction from my parents” (super simple, I just changed a few words!) and he better understood that we ALL make mistakes and it’s important to correct mistakes and keep it moving, not dwelling on mistakes. We’ve read this book before the start of his virtual school days for the past three days, with my husband reporting our son now “doesn’t get as upset” after being corrected. Katie S.

On Asking for Help

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This resource addressed exactly what my student needed! Sarah B.

Until next time!
